1. What do you appreciate about the ESOP most?
“The collaborative work environment it creates. All employee-owners have something to gain when the company is successful. I have experienced a lot of team effort over the years. My co-worker’s willingness to help and offer solutions is priceless. It really does draw a group of creative, hardworking, problem solving and proactive thinking people together. The extra retirement fund is great too.”
2. How does being part of an ESOP affect your daily work?
“It keeps me focused and held accountable to work as efficiently and effectively as possible. I feel a responsibility to my team, clients and prospects that they receive a PURPLE experience. I make decisions based on what’s best for the company long term and not just what’s best short term. I’m always looking for ways to streamline processes and still provide excellent programs to our partners.”
3. What would you tell a friend about being in an ESOP?
“It is a great opportunity to work in a culture where everyone is striving for the company to succeed, and everyone is benefiting from the successes. Your voice is not only heard but it is highly recommended that you offer solutions to challenges that arise. It does take a few years for you to be impressed with your ESOP statement balance, but don’t get discouraged. Once it starts growing and you’ve been here 5+ years the statement will put a smile on your face.”
