1. How does being in an ESOP affect your day-to-day work?
It definitely helps me stay positive when things get stressful and is a great reminder of how everything I do affects the company as a whole.
2. What is something new you have learned about being in an ESOP that you did not know previously?
I did not know anything about Employee Stock Ownership Plans before coming to OAA. The main thing I have learned is that every employee’s hard work contributes to the company’s success, and you get to see that translated in your statement. An ESOP also really helps us all feel more appreciated and better compensated for the work we do.
3. How do you think being in an ESOP affects overall work culture?
It creates a culture of ownership & longevity. It gives employee-owners a much bigger role in day-to-day decision-making, encourages teamwork and engagement. Then we get to see the rewards of those decisions & teamwork, both immediately and over long periods of time.
