Meet John Akers
John Akers is a third-generation insurance professional with over 30 years of insurance and employee benefits expertise at Ollis/Akers/Arney. He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree with an emphasis in Finance from the University of Missouri and went on to work in the financial planning industry after obtaining his Series 7 stockbroker’s license.
In the early 90s, John returned to Branson to work at Akers & Arney Insurance, where he became a partner and co-owner after investing in the business over many years. In 2003, John was recognized as the Young Agent of the Year by the Missouri Association of Insurance Agents. In 2015, his agency merged with Ollis & Company to become what is now Ollis/Akers/Arney. John currently serves on the Board of Directors of Ollis/Akers/Arney as Treasurer of the organization and is a member of the Executive Team. He also serves as Vice President of Benefits and is licensed in property, casualty, life, and health. John currently serves his community on the Board of Directors for the Crisis Center, and is a past President of the Branson-Hollister Rotary Club and past Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 226 in Branson.
John and Shelly have been married for almost 30 years, and they have one son, Jack. In his spare time, John enjoys spending time outdoors with his family on his property north of Branson and RVing out west.
