BOLIVAR, MO – The renovation of the First National Bank building brings new and existing businesses to the Bolivar Square. One such business is the insurance conglomerate of Ollis/Akers/Arney Insurance & Business Advisors. Formerly The Paul Long Agency, Ollis/Akers/Arney acquired Long’s business in July 2018 which included offices in Bolivar and El Dorado Springs. Ollis/Akers/Arney will serve its local clients in Bolivar at 108 N. Main St. starting June 1, 2019. “Our team is thrilled to be a part of the revitalization of the Bolivar Square,” says Long. “On a personal level, I am now a third-generation business owner in the Long family to work on the Bolivar Square. That’s pretty special and means so much to me and my family.”
In February 2006, Paul opened The Paul Long Agency and quickly saw the need for service and insurance solutions in Stockton. The Paul Long Agency opened a second location in Stockton in 2008, purchased the Farmers Community Insurance Agency from Farmers State Bank in 2013 and acquired the Joy Dobbs Agency of El Dorado Springs in 2015.
Paul’s success in the insurance industry was recognized twice in the span of 12 years through Auto Owner’s Insurance President’s Club, which highlights the top 25 out of 10,000 agents, annually.
The business has become a family venture with the addition of Paul’s father, Charlie Long in 2010. Charlie specializes in Medicare services and enjoys the opportunity to spend time with his son in a professional setting.
“One of the lessons I’ve learned in life as a business owner is that success doesn’t come with an easy, step-by-step plan,” says Long. “The key to success is building long term relationships with clients and finding out how I and our team can best help them meet their business needs.”
The Paul Long Agency was and is the only insurance agency to win the Bolivar Area Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year. That achievement was bestowed upon Long and his team in 2009.
